Consecration from the Russian River Brewing Company in Santa Rosa, California is a hard beer for us to get in Ohio. Fellow Ohioan Mark Benko visited the brewery and sent us this dark sour ale - a style that we don't have a lot of experience with on the Better Beer Authority. It wasn't obvious whether these guys would like this beer or not and that's what makes the blind taste test so fun. Tune in and find out if these guys can appreciate a sour ale.

On The Wings Of Armageddon was brewed as a tribute to the Mayan end of the world in 2012. But, since we survived and the beer was so good, they decided to put the beer into cans. This beer review was inspired by Beer Geek Nation and Chris Steltz, but would not be possible without the generous contribution of my DC buddy Richard Hartogs. Spoiler Alert: These guys like the beer. Go find it and try it for yourself. If you like hops, you won't regret trying this beer.
CORRECTIONS: I said at the beginning of the video that they used a single hop called Falconer's Flight. It's actually a single "hop blend" - several varieties of hops in the same pellet. We explain that fully at the end of the video. Also, it's not the "first brewery in DC since 1956." It's the first "production brewery in DC since 1956". Sorry for the errors. I fired the writer/researcher for the mistake. Unfortunately, I had to rehire him because he is me and I'm the only one willing to edit this show.
